Got the Juice? Why Juicing is the right move.


I have been reading up on the benefits of juicing and I really think it is something everyone should try at least once (unless your doctor says you shouldn’t). Got the juice? Here’s why juicing is the right move. Juicing is a great way to hit the reset button on your body and detox it.

I am about to do my second juice cleanse maybe you will want to join me after you see why juicing is the right move.

There is foreplay in juicing..

I did my first juice cleanse last year for 2 days just to get my feet wet and see how my body would react. To be honest that first day I felt like crap. I didn’t follow the recommended pre-cleanse diet before juicing. The pre-cleanse diet helps to ease the body off of solids and make the transition to juicing much easier.  I should have eaten clean and light foods for 2-3 days before juicing. Instead I did it cold turkey. I don’t recommend that!

Learn from my mistakes

On day 1 you want to take it easy. I didn’t do enough research then so instead of doing it on a slow day, I was busy running errands. After which I trotted across campus to my classes all while having to pee every 5 minutes. I talked to God a lot that day; promising Him all kinds of things if He would just get me through the day without embarrassing myself. By the end of the day, I felt very lightheaded, but I didn’t quit. I went home and had barely enough energy to drink my next round of juices before going to bed.

By day 2 I felt like the Beyonce of juicing.

My energy was WAAAAY UP I felt blessed! I wasn’t bloated or hungry. I felt light and clean; it was incredible. When I woke up on day 3 and weighed myself I had lost not 1, not 3, but 6 pounds bish!

Know Better Do Better

This time I plan to cleanse for 3 days with a juice cleanse from Viva Raw here in Charlotte. They have 3 different cold pressed juice cleanses to choose from. A cleanse is a great way to hit the reset button on your body and detox especially after all the eating we tend to do around the holidays. Moreover, juicing can even help prepare your body to go vegan or begin a clean eating lifestyle. When done properly it can even be enjoyable.  Use this time to meditate, stretch, or journal your thoughts. Drink tons of water to flush your system between juices.  This prevents headaches and can cut down on your hangry tendencies.  You will find yourself having lots of energy because your body isn’t using energy to digest solids.
